dqd - dirqmail distribution - README file

1.  What's that?

  A dirqmail distribution intended to be used by qmail power users.


2.  Features

  Apart of standard qmail functionality:

  Download from the project page and take a look at the INSTALL file.

5.  Users management

  See dirqmail documentation for more information.

  The basic idea is that each user is represented by
  /var/qmail/mail/<domain>/<user> directory. Passwords are stored as
  plain text in these directories in files called "password". Aliases
  are symbolic links.

  Remember not to crypt user passwords and to use user@domain as login
  for all services, POP3 in particular.


6.  History

  dqd is historically based on the Helios qmail - a qmail distribution
  based on the qmail-sql patch.
